Actor Rejects Anti-Vax Views After Narrating Controversial Pandemic Feature
Liam Neeson has provided his narration to a feature-length documentary that casts doubt on the legitimacy of vaccinations and praises one-time government figure the political figure.
The Documentary's Provocative Foundation
Named "Plague of Corruption," the documentary is inspired by a well-known publication published by a controversial scientist, who rose to infamy during the health crisis for assertions that the illness was caused by a problematic version of the flu vaccine.
The book's collaborator, a producer, has penned books with conspiracy-prone figure Alex Jones. He took to social media hailing Neeson's participation in the film.
A Strong Denial
The team of Liam Neeson have provided a statement strongly denying suggestions that he supports anti-immunization beliefs.
"Everyone can acknowledge that corruption can exist within the medical sector, but that cannot be confused with rejection of vaccines," the response reads. "Liam has never been, and remains not, against vaccines. His long work with Unicef underscores his consistent support for worldwide vaccination initiatives."
The statement added that the actor did not shape the film's messaging and that questions about its claims are best addressed to the producers.
Major Themes Featured in the Documentary
According to the documentary, the voiceover spoken by Neeson features several strong statements:
- It claims that pro-vaccine voices have demanded "unconditional submission" to health authorities.
- It declares that "medical science has become highly politicized."
- Kennedy is featured claiming, "The major issue with vaccines is that they are not properly vetted."
- The film further attacks Covid lockdowns, claiming they caused psychological harm that led to the loss of thousands of lives.
- Regarding Covid vaccines, it references a view that they were "hurriedly approved" and seen as "dangerous experiments."
Historical Context and Current Issues
The film also references a past television report about AIDS medication trials on children, which was subsequently the subject of a formal apology by the network for editorial breaches.
Last month, Kennedy instructed the Centers for Disease Control to revise its official position that there is no causal relationship between vaccines and autism. This claim is repeated in the film, even with a fresh analysis from the World Health Organisation stating no connection has been found.
An Earlier Position of Advocacy
Standing in contrast to the documentary's narrative, Neeson has in the past voiced clear advocacy for vaccines in his capacity as a Unicef global ambassador.
In 2022, he referred to vaccines as "a remarkable achievement," adding that "The discourse about vaccines in lately has overlooked how much positive impact they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest human endeavors in human history."
"Plague of Corruption" finishes with Neeson's narration stating, "This isn't the finish of our journey. Rather, it is the start of a fresh chapter."
