Football Expert Sutton Takes On Singer Olly Murs in Top Flight Predictions

Arsenal's ten-match victorious run came to an end by the Black Cats prior to the international break, but can the English top division frontrunners recover against local foes Spurs this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," remarked soccer expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still find a way to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, versus AI, readers and a range of special visitors.

For the twelfth round, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

The singer's new record, the new release, is out on Friday.

Soccer and Family Experiences

Olly is a talented soccer player as well as a accomplished singer and has been a star of several Soccer Aid games over time - but he is not planning a serious return as a player.

"{I actually played in a benefit match the other night for a mate of mine," he explained. "My side was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!

"I still love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too risky for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my daughter or son chooses to play instead."

Murs and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, their daughter and Albert, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their coach.

"I will not push football on our kids but I've already told Amelia that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be managing their Saturday soccer team," he added.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a while too.

"My father coached with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I inherited it. He coached our side for two or three years and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to wait a bit longer for their star's comeback from fitness issues but their offense is now stronger with Joao Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this game will be quite tight, however. Burnley are disciplined and their only at Turf Moor losses so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

This suggests a one-all draw to me, but I am actually going to go with the London side to edge it for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

Olly's prediction: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their past two matches - although both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which surprised me.

In contrast, the Hammers secured back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they appear competitive again.

West Ham's only on the road win this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when their boss Nuno Espirito Santo was previously Forest coach.

Therefore, what exactly do I go with here - can the Hammers extending their streak under their manager, or the home side bouncing back?

I will choose Bournemouth, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

The guest's prediction: Bournemouth are performing strongly but West Ham have improved under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for the drop before the season began, but they have impressed a few observers under their manager and are in fine fettle with three wins in their last four matches.

My son advised me to get Brentford forward Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will likely score again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to select him or support the away side at Amex Stadium.

They have not had much success on the road this term, and the Seagulls are always decent at home. The visitors will attempt to attack on the counter-attack but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's side pose much more of a threat.

Sutton's prediction: 2-1

The singer's prediction: It could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a lot of scores but it in reality turns out to be rather tight. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive game for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their last six matches.

Fulham have got lots of talent in their squad but it nonetheless feels like they could be sucked into a drop zone battle.

Regarding Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the Premier League season so far.

Their display in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We have not witnessed any other team rough up the Gunners like that this term, and they were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing to do to back the visitors here, because they are obviously able of disrupting Fulham up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they defeated the Blues at the end of October.

But I am not do that. Instead, I truly need to carry on going against Sunderland with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of credit for their positive results because they evidently love to prove me wrong.

Looking at Fulham's home record, the sole side they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Marco Silva's team will be extremely eager for a good result, so I am going to predict they will pick up three points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

Olly's prediction: I know Sunderland are doing well and also that the hosts are on a bad run... but Fulham have nonetheless been respectable at home this season. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a hard fixture to call. Liverpool have suffered seven of their past 10 games in every tournament, but could they be one of the teams who profit from the {international break|
