Fox Sports Parts Ways with Mark Sanchez, Replaces Him with Drew Brees
Fox Sports has terminated its association with game analyst Mark Sanchez as he faces criminal charges, multiple outlets reported on Friday.
"It is confirmed that Mark Sanchez has ceased with the network," a network representative stated. "There will be no further comment at this time."
Stepping into the analyst role will be another former professional quarterback, Drew Brees, according to the information. He will likely to partner with announcer Adam Amin and has a contract to provide commentary until at least 2026.
Details of the Sanchez Situation
Sanchez, 38 had been sidelined since he was stabbed and later taken into custody following a fight in an Indianapolis alley with a 69-year-old truck driver. He was in town to commentate on the 5 October game between the Colts and Las Vegas Raiders but was admitted to the hospital and replaced that week by Brady Quinn.
He is facing felony battery as well as multiple misdemeanors. The felony charge could result in of 1-6 years in prison, upon a guilty verdict, and he has pleaded not guilty in the Indiana court.
