Iran Claims Strike on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, During Widespread Retaliatory Strikes.
Iran's military claims to have hit a US naval base in Manama, as Iran launched missile attacks across the region in response for a "massive" and ongoing assault targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an area in the area of the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any destruction is not yet known and the American officials has remained silent.
Regional Interceptions
In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to US military bases - said they have shot down missiles in their airspace.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had successfully engaged several missiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared it was targeting US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the strikes on the Islamic Republic initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.
That initial attack - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck sites linked to the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump calling on the Iranian people to rise up against the regime.

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The defence ministry of the UAE announced that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses responded to the missiles with great effectiveness and destroyed a series of missiles," the statement continued.
It said debris landed in a neighborhood in the capital, causing some property damage and fatalities.
The US Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
