New Particulars Come to Light About the Location of Rob and Michele Singer Reiner's Bodies
New information has come to light about the shocking demises of acclaimed film director Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were discovered at their Los Angeles home home on Sunday.
A Discovery
As detailed in an account citing a confidential source, a therapist scheduled for an appointment first raised the alarm after not being able to enter the house. This individual then contacted the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides close by.
After gaining access to the home, Romy found her father's body. It is said she then exited the property overwhelmed with grief, without knowing at that moment that her mother's body was also present. A companion who had accompanied her contacted 911. Following this, emergency responders located Michele Singer Reiner's body.
Legal Charges
The police have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of premeditated murder, as well as the use of a dangerous weapon, said to be a knife. He is now detained without bail.
Correcting the Record
The confidential informant challenged several previously reported details. The source indicated that while Romy Reiner informed emergency responders that her brother Nick resided in a detached unit on the property, she did not point to him as a person of interest at that moment.
Furthermore pushed back against widely reported suggestions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been particularly "concerned" about Nick's behavior in recent weeks. The source claimed the family was "accustomed to working through [Nick's] problems together."
This refutation applies to reports of alleged "erratic" behavior by Nick at a gathering held by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the discovery. While the source stated they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "scolded" his son at the party, they said that claims of a "blow-up" between the two were untrue.
Ongoing Inquiry Details
Per law enforcement officials, the coroner had yet to determine as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died on Saturday evening or on Sunday. Some media reports noted the condition of their bodies pointed to they had been dead for some hours.
Nick Reiner was arrested at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the neighbourhood of Exposition Park, roughly 15 miles from the scene. He was scheduled to have a hearing on Tuesday, but his attorney, Alan Jackson, said his client had a medical issue and would not be present until no sooner than Wednesday.
