An Australian man who jumped past a barrier and reached for Hollywood star Ariana Grande has been sent away and prohibited from Singapore.

The individual, 26, was handed a penalty to nine days in prison for disrupting public order and has now been "banned from entering the country again," the country's border control told Singaporean press.

He forced his way beyond security and rushed toward the celebrity, who was present at the Asian premier for the film on the thirteenth of November. Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo wrestled him away from Grande.

The individual has a record of causing disturbances at events and high-profile gatherings, including rushing the stage at the pop star's Australian show in the past June.

The incident provoked strong reactions in Singapore, with many claiming he of re-traumatising Grande.

The celebrity has spoken of suffering from trauma-related anxiety after a explosive incident at her concert in Manchester in spring of 2017 killed over twenty people and injured hundreds.

In the legal process, the authorities learned he had attempted to intrude on the film's premiere twice, according to Singaporean media.

He then made a another effort to jump the barricades. Event security prevented him and restrained him.

He then uploaded video clips expressing gratitude to the star for letting him on the carpet and said he was "released."

Law enforcement detained him the next day and brought charges against him with disorderly conduct, to which he confessed.

The District Judge the judicial official was referenced by Channel News Asia as remarking that Wen was "attention seeking", adding that he was incorrect to think he would not experience repercussions.

Grande has not spoken about the situation.

Cynthia Erivo discussed the situation to NBC, remarking that she "only aimed to verify my colleague was safe."

"I think he didn't mean us injury, but you never know with those things, and I wanted to ensure that she was fine. That was my initial reaction," she said.
