It's a challenge for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The highest peaks have been successfully scaled.

We're talking about the squad that has won seven Cricket World Cups, plus six more T20 titles, and once went 1,294 days without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, targeted by the achievement hunters, are all that remain for a team that has won it all.

That it took up to Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase over 300, regaining their record for the highest in the women's 50-over format, is, honestly, a compliment to the bowlers that have sported the yellow jersey over the past 50 years.

It's challenging for their batsmen to maintain a record if not afforded the chance.

Ultimately, the consequence of Australia allowing 330 runs was leader Alyssa Healy being given a platform to create her most recent brilliance.

Originally famous as the 19-year-old niece of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after Australia failed to win either of the T20 or ODI World Cups from the prior year and has seen it all through 15 successful years since.

A T20 championship victory came three months after her debut and seven global championships have followed from 10 attempts across formats.

The gritty keeper was also there in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final defeat by India briefly halted the run of success.

That loss "drove us to reevaluate our levels," Healy said this week.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the title decider and was named player of the tournament. She made sure her country would not come up short.

If this recent magnificent innings surpassed that earlier display is debatable.

Some will argue the reasoning behind the pressure of a final. Different voices suggest with the test that comes when facing a record target and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What is certain is this hundred was considerably tougher to predict.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 occurred when she topped the run-scoring charts, but this knock came after six matches in India since the start of last month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"If you've been watching me in the nets, it was a disappointing period because it appeared my form was missing completely," said Healy.

"But once you step out on the field, your competitive instincts activate and you completely engage with the competition."

Healy's competitiveness has consistently been her key asset - and an irreplaceable characteristic in replacing iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, dismissed by the young fast bowler in each encounter, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's inspiration.

A single came off the bowler's initial ball and from there the right-hander was in motion.

"An opportunity to go out there and face the challenge with her and simply enjoy myself in that regard, somewhat inspired me," said Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 balls - her swiftest at a World Cup - and her ton in 84 deliveries while she flogged anything short, hitting 21 fours and three big hits.

When she was out Australia required another 66 at a run-a-ball - an unconquered height now needing a comfortable finish.

"To chase 330 is new territory so I'm pleased we have the belief to achieve that now," added Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to do it again but, if necessary, we know we can succeed."

That comment will be the final thing rival teams at this tournament need to hear.

In recent days a belief they will succeed regardless of circumstances has only strengthened - this victory following win against Pakistan by 107 run margin despite being 76-7 at one point.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before an encounter with longtime competitors England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final place may likely be confirmed.

It was at that stage they exited last year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - a game Healy couldn't play because of damaged tissue in her foot as she led her country for the initial instance at an important competition.

So great is her will, she afterwards commented she wanted to have participated through the pain.

But while she later admitted those fitness problems have postponed plans to retire, this World Cup is expected to be her final tournament as skipper in ODI cricket and she is yet to win a global event as captain.

Triumph in India would take her to the summit of her final mountain.
