The Lionesses v the Chinese team – Women’s Friendly Match

Introduction

Welcome everyone to the friendly match between England and the Chinese squad at Wembley Stadium. This promises to be an exciting contest with the European Championship holders competing against the reigning Asia Cup winners.

The iconic Wembley is fully booked for the event, which will see the celebrated Fran Kirby honored pre-match after her retirement from the national team before the Euros this past summer.

Lineup details will be revealed soon, but there was a late squad update for England. On Friday, Khiara Keating withdrew from the squad with a small issue, and so former number one Ellie Roebuck has been summoned.

With Hannah Hampton unavailable, it will be notable to find out who head coach Sarina Wiegman selects in goal. That news and all the other updates are incoming before the start of the match at 5:30 in the evening GMT.

Lineup Announcements

Squad details are now available. Anna Moorhouse starts in goal for England in the non-presence of Hannah Hampton and Khiara Keating.

England's starting eleven: Moorhouse, Bronze, Charles, Walsh, Le Tissier, Morgan, Mead, Stanway, Russo, Toone, Hemp.

Bench: Hings, Baggaley, Kendall, Wubben-Moy, Beever-Jones, Kelly, Kearns, Park, Blindkilde Brown, Roebuck, Clinton, Denton, Fisk, Godfrey.

We are awaiting the squad from China now; as soon as I have it, I will share it.
